Welcome to Josef Holzermayr – home of the Authentic Salzburg Mozartkugel – following the tradition of Rudolf Baumann 1880.

Confiserie specialties since 1865.

The Salzburger Mozartkugel – promoted under this name around 1880 by confectioner Rudolf Baumann.

The Salzburger Mozartkugel, whose early marketing under this name can be traced back to the Salzburg confectioner Rudolf Baumann, remains closely associated with the traditional Confiserie Josef Holzermayr – a k.u.k. purveyor to the court, which stands for the highest craftsmanship and quality.

True to the company philosophy “”Chocolate to Enjoy””, Josef Holzermayr opened his confiserie of the same name at Mozartplatz 2–3 in Salzburg’s Old Town.

In 1914, his son Rudolf Holzermayr took over the business and expanded it to include a wholesale confectionery business and another shop in the Getreidegasse 42. From there, he made the Salzburg Mozartkugel accessible to a wide audience.

Since the company relocated in 1919, the Alter Markt 7 location has been the place where the Authentic Salzburg Mozartkugel is available according to the proven tradition of 1880.
