The Salzburg Mozartkugel, created by confectioner Rudolf Baumann, remains inextricably linked to this day with the traditional Confiserie Josef Holzermayr – a former Imperial and Royal Purveyor to the Court renowned for the highest craftsmanship and quality.
True to the company philosophy “Chocolate to Enjoy”, confectioner Josef Holzermayr and his brother Rudolf Holzermayr, the owner, opened the confectionery of the same name at Mozartplatz 2–3 in Salzburg’s Old Town.
In 1914, Rudolf Holzermayr expanded the business to include a wholesale confectionery business and another shop at Getreidegasse 42. From there, he made his specialties accessible to a wide audience.
Since the company relocated in 1919, Alter Markt 7 has been the place where the Salzburg Mozartkugel is available in its proven quality.
