We owe the genuine Salzburg Mozartkugel, known for its unmistakable taste, to the k. k. Court purveyor Josef Holzermayr, who has been practicing the art of confectionery at the highest level in Salzburg since 1865. Chocolate to enjoy – true to this company philosophy, Josef Holzermayr opened the confectionery store of the same name at Alter Markt 7 in Salzburg. When you enter the store in Salzburg’s city center, you immediately feel transported to a bygone era. Chocolates and sweets of all kinds are arranged on nostalgic-looking wooden shelves. The richly filled chocolate counters, which leave nothing to be desired, are particularly popular. French caramel, sweet and sour drops and pastel-colored silk candies are displayed in large glass jars on old-fashioned candy stands.
